Furman Scholars are eligible
for at least $20,000 per year, $80,000 over four years, in scholarships upon acceptance to Furman University.
Furman Scholar nominees must be current juniors who meet the following requirements:
• A genuine interest in an education in the liberal arts and sciences
• A high school weighted grade point average of 3.5 or higher
• At least a 1300 on SAT, a 1360 on the SAT-R, a 1360 on the PSAT, or a 29 on the ACT or Aspire (excluding writing).
• Significant involvement in extracurricular activities and community service • Demonstrated leadership potential

The Cohen & Jaffe Law Office Scholarship
For this contest students most compose an essay of no less than 500 words and no more than 750 words. There are two topics that applicants can write about:
1. Describe a time you drastically impacted someone else and improved their life.
2. What guidelines would you develop to ensure safety precautions are adhered to at medical facilities? What needs to be changed to protect patients?
Prize amount: $250-$1,000

Support Our Scholars
Young woman is selected with exceptional academic achievement and will be mentored throughout their four years of college and beyond. Must demonstrate continued need for financial aid. 3.5 or above GPA.
Prize amount: $10,000 per year, for 4 years

Pearlie Mae Ford Scholarship Service Award for 2017 High School Graduates
Demonstrate academic achievement and a history of community service.  Preference will be given to students who reside in Seminole, Volusia, or Lake County. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Must involved in community service or other volunteer activities. 500 word essay required.
Scholarship amount:$500

Create-A-Greeting-Card Scholarship ContestDesign a greeting card and you could win a $10,000 scholarship plus, your entry will be made into a bona fide greeting card by the leading publisher of premium quality cards in the United States, The Gallery Collection.
Prize amount: $10,000

Open to all High School students who have recognized a need or problem in their community and have determined a way to address the issue.
Prize amount: Up to $1,000 to $5,000

Ayn Rand Institute
The Fountainhead Essay Contest 800-1,600 word essay on "The Fountainhead" is required.  Student must select 1 of 3 topics listed on website. 
Scholarship amount:$50-$10,000

Florida Engineering Society scholarships inspire and encourage the pursuit of an education focused on engineering. These scholarships are made possible by the generous tax deductible contributions of Florida Engineering Society members, private companies and the general public to the Florida Engineering Foundation, Inc. Beginning on January 1, 2016, The PreJax Foundation will be posting college scholarship applications on its websites for students who either have multiple sclerosis (MS) or a parent with MS. There will be at least three $1,000 scholarships awarded to exceptional students based on their academic performance, community service, and other factors. Any interested students or parents should visit the Foundation website at and click on the Apply tab at the top of the page. Please review all the eligibility requirements and application instructions very carefully before filling out an application.

Mapping Your Future provided a line-by-line training for students and parents completing the 2013-14 FAFSA on Tuesday, February 5. Lori Auxier, Director of Outreach Services, Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance and Beth Ziehmer, Customer Service/Operations Coordinator, Mapping Your Future provided an overview of completing the FAFSA.
