Steps for New Dual Enrollment Applicants (returning students start at Step 4)

1.    Students seeking to start Dual Enrollment with Seminole State must

a.    Complete the SSC DE Application. Download the form to your computer, then open the file in Adobe, and select “Sign and Fill” to complete the form online. Be sure to save the form before closing Adobe.

b.    If not done prior to step A above, hand-deliver or email the SSC Application to your counselor, who will complete Section 4 of the application.  If you have an eligible GPA, your counselor will return the completed application to you. 

c.    Send the completed SSC application via email before December 3, 2020 To dualenrollment@seminolestate.edu and Cc Your School Counselor’s email address (they can be found here).

2.    To be eligible to dual enroll, students must be in the 6th-12th grade and have completed at least one high school level course and:

a.    3.0 unweighted gpa for academic courses or a 2.5 unweighted GPA for SLS 1101, SLS 1301, and Career dual enrollment.

           b.  college-ready test scores* from one of the following:  As of 9/15/2020 SSC using remote placement testing (see bottom of page)

Or Accuplacer Next Gen - Reading: 245, Writing: 245, and Math score by SSC class: 

MAT1033 - Elementary Algebra score 72-120, College level math score: 20-39

MAC1105, MGF2106, MGF2107, or STA2023 – College level math score 40-62

MAC1114, MAC1140, or MAC2233 – College level math score 63-96

MAC1147 – College level math score of 70-96

*The Florida COVID test waiver for dual enrollment applied to summer and fall 2020 only. Students who entered during the test exemption period are not required to test.

3.    When you have been accepted, the SSC Dual Enrollment will email you your SSC ID#. You will then go to MySSC, click "Create MySCC Student Account", fill in the blank fields and click "Save".  This is where you will view test scores and course records, including grades. Go to Student Welcome for the step by step guide to getting started at Seminole State and learn about policies and procedures as well as campus activities.

4.    Go to www.seminolestate.edu hover your mouse over Academics, then "Search Courses".  Additional resources include the 

a.    For a list of most dual enrollment courses, the amount of high school credit each course earns, and the subject area they satisfy, go to the Dual Enrollment High School Subject Area Equivalency List

b.    Popular Dual Enrollment Courses (also found in the eCampus DE module)

c.    You may take up to nine credits each term

5.    Document your courses on the SSC Enrollment Svc Registration Form  and email it to dualenrollment@seminolestate.edu OR hand deliver the two forms to any registrar at any SSC campus for course registration during the "Course Registration Dates" listed at the top. Be sure to Cc: your Counselor on the email to SSC, so they see what courses you are taking.

6.    Order your textbooks by completing the  Dual Enrollment Textbook Form.

7.    In order for your LBHS schedule to be changed, the student must provide registration confirmation (copy of schedule) to their LBHS School Counselor. 

Students can take the required testing at SSC beginning Oct. 26.  Please call ahead to verify the hours they are open or go to https://www.seminolestate.edu/testing

SSC Remote Placement Testing (only for new DE students who need college ready test scores)

Accuplacer Virtual Testing Quick Reference Guide

1.   Students must have a Seminole State Student ID number and must be active for a future term prior to requesting remote testing.

2.   Students must complete the top portion of the Accuplacer Virtual Testing Form and email it to remotetesting@seminolestate.edu. Students will be notified by email once the request has been approved and a voucher number will be provided. 

3.   A test proctor will observe you while you take the Accuplacer via Zoom video conference.

4.   Accuplacer scores will appear in the MySSC system within the next 24 hours.  Once test scores are posted in the system; testing holds will be removed.
