Posted on 10/23/2023

What a start to the 2nd quarter!  We have started new units in our classes while simultaneously testing students for PSAT, and that is going to continue into next week as well.  See below for updates from LBHS for the week of 10/16 - 10/20

PSAT

We will be continuing our efforts of providing all of our students the opportunity to take the PSAT test.  Next week, starting Monday, our 9th grade students will have the opportunity to take this nationally recognized assessment through their ELA classes.  Here is the schedule:

  • Monday, 10/23 (Ms. Caudle, Ms. Ungrady, and Ms. Reyes's Classes)
  • Tuesday, 10/24 (Ms. Riggs, Ms. Hodge, and Ms. Jucker's classes)
  • Wednesday, 10/25 (Any student who missed their grade level because they take their World History, US History or 9th grade English courses virtually)
  • Thursday, 10/26 (Make-ups)

Homecoming

Homecoming tickets are on sale now through MySchoolBucks!  Please check the All-LBHS eCampus page for more information on Guest tickets and Student tickets.  As a reminder, the Homecoming game is 11/3 and the dance is 11/4.  See you there!

Athletics

Congratulations to our Girls volleyball team for winning the District championship on Thursday night!  We will likely be hosting our Regional Quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday, 10/25.  Please stay tuned for more information!

Good luck to our Boys Golf, Girls Golf, and Boys & Girls Bowling teams as they compete in their District tournaments in the beginning of the next.  Go Patriots!
Girls Basketball
Tryouts for girls basketball will be October 30th, 31st, & Nov 1st. You must have your athletic clearance done & approved. Please see coach Sams in room 6-207 if you have any questions.

Performing Arts

Thank you to all of you who came out to our first Chorus concert on 10/19!  The performances were amazing and we are very proud of Mr. Prather and the entire Chorus program for putting on a great show!

Safety Survey

During the week of 10/30, be on the lookout for the SCPS safety survey.  This is a great opportunity for you to provide feedback on our school.  Thank you in advance for your participation!

Thank you everyone for a great week, and we are looking forward to keep this positive momentum going into November and beyond!  Go Patriots!
